Wifi connection on MacBook 2016 drops off randomly

My MacBook (MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015) wifi connection drops off randomly, often every 10 -15 minutes. This doesn't happen with my MacBook air or iPhones on the the same network connection. I can only get around this by turning wifi off and on again or by using "Network Diagnosis". “Wireless Diagnosis" says: "the following nearby networks conflicts with your current country code (DE)" but I do not have access/contact to that owner. Has been like this January and still a problem after latest updates. Quite annoying - any ideas ?

Do you have the same problem on all networks, or only on one? How long have you had the machine? Has it ever worked properly?

Hi,

The problem message you're getting suggest that there might be a problem with the country Setting for your computer. What country are you currently in? You could look in the System Preferences, in particular the Language & Region preference. A screen shot of my settings is below.

If the region indicated does not match where you actually are, you're lucky. That's easy to fix. Linc Davis's questions in the previous post may help in troubleshooting  further if it's not a simple change in settings.

Please let us know what you figure out.

By the way what does this information from your post refer to? "MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)"

I migrated my MacBook Air harddisk to my new MacBook in January 2016 (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015). The problem has been there since I got it and also on other networks. My MacBook air works perfectly fine with same setup and network.

Countrycode is correct (Denmark).

I have now corrected my MAC OS information, thanks for letting my know!

Her is a link to 1 Wireless Diagnostic map in case that make sense:

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.

If you are beyond 90 days, take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service provider for testing.

So I got phone support today and as far as I remember they asked me to do the following:

  1. Go to Library (Finder-Go-Option)
    1. trash “Cashes”
    2. trash “cookies”
    3. trash “Launch Agents”
  2. Go to System Preferences
    1. Choose “Users & Groups”
    2. Click "Login Items"
    3. Trash all login items except the Apple icon
  3. Close down your Mac
  4. Restart with Option, Command, R and P (not sure about P?) keys down
    1. 3 times startup sound should be heard
  5. Empty trash

I will check my Macbook for the next coming days to see if worked out successfully and let you know. Thanks!

You remembered correctly.

Command-Option-P-R is the startup key combination for resetting the NVRAM. Here is a link to more information.

Thanks for telling us about your progress. Will be interested to hear how it goes.

Yesterday second apple support assistance suggested emptying the SystemConfiguration folder but without succes, so next step will be to bring it along for repair

Are you solved this problem?

I'm trying this now. Hope it works because it's pretty freakin' annoying.
