What MHz can my Macbook Pro use for DDR3L RAM?

I currently have a:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)

2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

Ive been thinking of changing the Ram to a DDR3L 2*8gb 1600HMz but i noticed how there are also different HMz's (1600, 1866, 2133).

Will there be a difference in speed, battery, etc?? If so which is recommended?

Thanks so much!

1600 MHz DDR3 is recommended. Trying to increase speed by going outside the RAM specs, will most likely lead to a non functioning computer.

The performance of all the parts, working together, including the memory in your MacBook Pro is fixed. If Apple could have made it run faster by just installing faster RAM, they would already have done that.

Some faster RAMs will "downshift" and work at the slower speeds. Some will not, and may not work. But the worst is that some may ALMOST work, be flaky, and give you occasional random crashes for no discernable reason.

You should stick with the specifications given.

You should buy from a  Mac-knowledgeable Vendor who says:

"It works in your Mac,

or your money Back."
