Series 2 v Series 3 Wifi

I was waiting for the announcement yesterday before deciding which Apple Watch to purchase.  I basically want the non-cellular watch.  Am I best therefore buying the Series 3 non-cellular or should I go and purchase the Series 2 now?  What's the difference between the two?  Any advice gratefully received!
