Macbook Pro stuck in reboot loop

Hey everyone, So my 15" 2015 macbook pro (retina display) with sierra installed was working fine up until yesterday. Put it to sleep, and when I opened the lid, no power. Plugged it in, heard the startup chime, saw the apple logo, the loading progress bar reaches less than quarter of the way, and then it reboots again, same thing over and over.

It doesn't power on unless I have it plugged in as well. I tried safe boot, pram reset, smc reset, tried booting off a sierra bootable flash drive to run disk utility, and same result, it just reboots. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I'm out of ideas...

So just to update this and help anyone else having an issue like this...

The problem turned out to be a faulty battery. I replaced the battery and it booted up just fine.

Hi,

It sounds like a hardware issue. You may wish to run Run Apple Hardware Diagnostics and see if it catches anything: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202731

Beyond that, I would bring the Mac to an Apple Store “genius” bar for a free diagnosis: https://support.apple.com/contact

The apple logo would seem to mean it passed hardware test.

This does not sound like it is your issue but here you go..

Re: Fix for El Capitan stuck at login

The fact that you can't charge up your battery sounds like a hardware issue.
