No SIM Card on a 42mm Space Black SS with GPS +...

Just got my new  Series 3 (42mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Black Sport Band) through my carrier, Verizon Wireless, on Friday. Yay!, right?  Uh...no. 



 

After many attempts to activate Cellular via the installation wizard and failing every time, the VZW tech asked me to read through what’s in Settings | General | About... We saw that for both the Carrier and SIM settings, it was showing a dash on the Watch app on the iPhone and “None” and “No SIM,” respectively, on the Watch itself. 

 

How could that be??  The Watch has GPS + Cellular so the SIM should’ve definitely been pre-installed at the factory. 

 

(They’re sending me a new one, but now I have to deal with the hassle of returning what I got on Friday and, instead of already enjoying the use of my new Series 3, I must sit in a 3-week queue for the new one to be shipped.)

 

Is anyone else in this situation?
