Where are my AudioBooks?

Where are my Audiobooks? Over the last 2 years I have purchased several Audiobooks and listened to them for the most part. Wherever I purchased them they showed up. I have a Mac Computer, iPhone & iPad and every one is different. Where are they? Everytime there's a system upgrade or update they seem to misplace them or move them. On iTunes there's a place for Audiobooks on the books section but there isn't a purchased button like on books? I don't get it! I paid $22-$30 for these Audiobooks and can't easily find them. A couple of times over the past 2 years Apple has let me redownload them because they went missing? Anybody else have this problem?

They will only be where you put them.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.

You get one download of audiobooks.  Apple has been very kind to allow you to redownload.  Have you not learned the importance of backing up your content yet?

I did back them up! That doesn't explain why Apple can't keep track of them the way the do music, books & movies! Why use a different system? Kind of them indeed! I paid for those products, iCloud was setup to support us, kind in deed?

This is not about backing up Music, Movies, Books, Audiobooks & TV Shows. It's about where did they go? I can find my purchases on iTunes for everything but Audiobooks?

I cannot find my audiobooks either. They are simply gone and there is not even a folder for audiobooks left in my iTunes media folder. What happened?

The only way I could get my audiobooks back is I backed them up on a seperate drive. I doulble clicked them and iTunes place them in their proper place (a folder in iTunes Media call "audiobooks"). After that that magically appeared on my iPhone & iPad during backup. They are in under "More" and then under "Audiobooks"

I still don't know where they went when I installed first iOS 7 and then OS X Mavericks. That seems like a flaw in Apples system updates, but I'm not sure.

Also I spoke with Apple with whom I am consulting on QuickTime and they agreed that there may be a problem. They're not sure though. I think of Audiobooks weren't so expensive it wouldn't matter so much.

They might be gone forever! Did you do a search on your computer? If you back up they should be in a previous configuration before a system update? Good luck my friend. Apple might let you download them again if you go to your receipts in iTunes and let them know there's a problem.

I have this problem too - can't find my ibooks - I have a friend here - who just bought an audiobook - and can't find it anywhere...... I have stopped using itunes and switched to audible.

My 'Audiobooks' option was not showing up on my iphone under the 'more' button in Music and I couldnt search for my audiobooks through spotlight either.

I've just resolved my problem by opening up iTunes on my computer and connecting my device, clicking my device tab in the top right hand corner of iTunes and then going into the 'summary' tab. At the bottom of that screen under 'Options' I then ticked the box saying 'Manually manage music and video' and voila! (I thought checking this might erase everything on my device ready to re-install but it didn't, it just unchecked all the boxes under the headings of all the content on your device, ie Apps, Music ect) iTunes started to sync and all my audiobooks appeared in the 'On This iPhone tab' in iTunes and the 'Audiobooks' option has now appeared on my iphone under the more button with all my audiobooks in it.

All of my audiobooks disappeared when I upgraded my os. Not under "purchased" or "audiobooks",  now what? I would like to put them on my iPad for my vacation.

MIne are gone after updating my OS. Not in purchased and not in audiobooks. Now what?

There is little worse that coming to a support community with a legitimate question only to be chastised by a high-handed user who offers no actual solution.
