iOs11 Files app problem with locations

Hello! I don't have "On my Ipad" location in Files app. There is only "iCloud Drive". Could anyone help? What I should do to see my Ipad in Files app? Some specs: iOs11, Ipad Pro 10.5.   IMG_20170923_194814_HDR_.jpg

It's really obnoxious right?  I ran into the same issue; got an iPad Mini 4 with 128gb mem and can't even create a folder to put files in.  As best I can tell, the issue is that Apple does not want you actually placing files on your iPad that aren't tied to some app, so "On my iPad" will not be visible until you take two steps:

1) Install an app that creates a folder for you

2) Use that app, or any other, to save a file into that folder

At that point, "On my iPad" will become visible, or you can click Edit and turn it on to make it visible.  You'll find the one folder related to the app you installed is in the "On my iPad", but you will still not be able to create any additional folders at the root level.  You can only create sub-folders of these application folders.  Also, as best I can tell, if you delete the app which was responsible for the folder, the files and sub-folders go with it, so be prepared to lose data if you accidentally do that and don't have a backup.

The whole situation is stupid; I can't even save an attachment from Outlook or Gmail on my iPad because I haven't installed an app that has been nice enough to create a folder for me.  I don't use iCloud because I don't like my files living on someone else's server regardless of what protection they claim to have in place.

Thanks a lot for your replay!

That's seems to me very wierd. Cause I watched youtube videos where Files app had a folder "On my Ipad" and thought to my self what a great tool! But everything is not so easy.

Your suggestion was very helpful. But could you advice me any app that can create an appropriate folder for me?
