Logic Pro X MIDI Weirdness (Modwheel/Sustain Pe...
Disclaimer - this one is gonna be confusing.
I'm using three main pieces of a puzzle, here (all of which initially worked and now mysteriously decided to stop working) - Logic Pro X, OSCulator, and a Guitar Hero World Tour drum set for the Wii. Four parts, if you include my M-Audio Keystation 49es.
The issue is this: I'm attempting to get my sustain pedal to act as a hi hat pedal for the GHWT set via OSCulator (...again. Cannot stress this enough, it DID work.)
So what we've got is LPX running Drum Kit Designer. Within DKD, there's a menu that allows you to select either V-drums or to use your midi keyboard's mod wheel to control the openness of the hi hat pedal. OSCulator turns the pads from the Wii kit into velocity-sensitive pads sending midi data to any given DAW, which works flawlessly. The pads are all working and sending the correct notes to the correct keys and samples, et cetera. When I strike the hi hat pad (A#1), the open/closed hi hat pedal (mod wheel) isn't affecting it at all. The A#1 key on my keyboard, however, IS affected by the mod wheel (AND by the sustain pedal using a midi transformer in Midi Environments translating CC64 to CC1). If I hook up a second keyboard to the computer, it ALSO is unaffected by the mod wheel/sustain pedal (still hitting A#1 on a LaunchKey Mini and pressing/releasing the sustain pedal/rolling the mod wheel on the Keystation).
Now, I've quit the program, relaunched, reinstalled, recreated the midi setup within the environment/transformer.... nothing is getting this back to where I was. And I think the most infuriating part is that nothing change. LITERALLY last night I was able to jam on my little GHWT set and the sustain pedal was quite admirably working the hi hat exactly how I wanted it, and today when I booted up, for some reason the mod wheel/sustain pedal on my keystation refuses to communicate with any other midi device, even though they're all routed to the same place.
The TL;DR here, I suppose, is that I WANT my mod wheel/sustain pedal on my main midi keyboard to affect ALL OTHER midi sources sending data to Logic.
What happened? How do I fix this? I just want my drums to work!
