The Free Dictionary uninstall

Hey guys, getting really annoyed by this, but somehow, "The Free Dictionary" has got into my system, and every day I have had "The word of the day" come up on my mac, Ive moved it out of the notification centre, not to get any notifications through from it, but when I looked for it to try and remove it, I can't find it anywhere. Has anyone else had trouble with this?

Cheers
Adam

Go to System Preferences / Notifications. Choose Free Dictionary and uncheck the boxes.

Same here! So annoying, especially since I've never used the program (to my knowledge anyway). Of course it can easily be removed from Notification Center (which I did) but it stills bugs me not knowing where it came from. I have no OS X program, no iOS-app, no widget that seems to correspond to "The Free Dictionary".. How the heck did it get into my system? And is it still lurking there somewhere?

Hi, for remove "The Free Dictionnary" go to Safari preference, notifycation and remove The Free Dictionnary line

Simlply said and Done. Thanks.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

thanks bertrand54

this solved it

why have this under safari preferences is a mystery

and hard to find

This was freaking me out! thanks for the tip.

That worked great!  Thank you so much!!  Removing from Safari Preferences did the trick!!

Notifications are under websites in Safari preferences, where can then uncheck Freedictionary.com options, but still no answer to how it got there in first place and how to fully remove it!
