Use an old macbook pro as a "server"
Hi
My configuration : I put all my movies on an old macbook pro (2011) in order to stream them on my Apple Tv with Infuse.
I tried to access to my mac when it is asleep (I though that maybe it will work with Infuse via Bonjour or something like that) but I failed. The Apple TV and the mac are on the same network, I changed the energy saver settings and I plug the mac but I failed. Maybe it is because of my router (I am using a VPN) I don't know.
So, I downloaded Insomniax to keep the mac alive and I keep it plug in. The battery is almost dead but I was wondering if it possible to remove the battery and keep the mac plug in ?
This configuration is not ideal but for the moment I have not enough money to buy a NAS.
Thank you very much for your help !
PS : all my apologies, I am french and my english is pretty bad
