Apple Watch Series 2 and Wifi

Hello all,

I need to know if I am doing something wrong here. I am connected to my phone through bluetooth and if I surpass the distance of bluetooth BUT still connected to the same wifi the expectation was that I would still be connected. Also should the apple watch not have recollection of your previous wifi connected ssid's?
