podcasts do not play consecutively in itunes 12.6

In the new version of iTunes(12.6.0.95), updated earlier today, my podcasts do not play consecutively. They stop with one, and I have to click on the next one to play it. In previous versions, all unplayed podcasts play consecutively. How do I get this to happen in the new version? Thank you.

This also happened to me.  Using iTunes 12.6.0.100 in Mac OS 10.11.6, if I choose the oldest podcast in a set, it does not move to the next newest podcast upon completion.  However, if I choose a newer podcast, it will then play an older one after completion.  I.e., it's behaving as if I selected 'Play Newest to Oldest' when in fact I selected 'Play Oldest to Newest'.  Selecting the option 'Play Newest to Oldest' fixes this, but when it syncs that podcast setting with my iPhone, the phone plays them out of order.

I spoke with Apple Support and they said I had to create a playlist to play each podcast consecutively from oldest to newest. It seems like too much work in order to do this, but they said they would try and fix this problem in latter updates.

Bill109, Thanks for the followup.

Apple, this is pretty darn lame!

The most recent update still has not fixed this problem. I still have to play the last podcast to get any to play consecutively.

I've found that was always the case. In podcasts the episodes never played more than one at a time. Smart playlists will play consecutively, but if you have "random" selected to play songs then it's back to playing one podcast and then having to push play again in iTunes.
