how do I delete (move to trash and delete) docu...

I recently purchased a MacBook and loaded Microsoft excel and word.  I'm trying to delete files I inadvertently saved to the iCloud (hard drive?) and don't know how to delete them.  I also don't know how to save to a memory stick.  Please help me.  I am becoming frustrated as I'm not used to my Mac.
