iTunes 12.1.2 will not open

After upgrading to iTunes 12.1.2, iTunes will not launch. Here is what I have found in the console.

Any suggestions?

I've had that happen to me today when I did the install on my MacBook Pro.

 

No solution yet. Thinking of reinstalling 10.10.3 but will have to wait for tonight when I'm home from work.

Same problem here on 2013 iMac

I'm at work with my laptop, but it occurred to me that my iMac at home, also running 10.10.3, has the un-updated version of iTunes. I think I can copy the app from that computer to my MBP.

Same problem. iTunes won't open after updating to version 12.1.2.

Let's face it: Looks like a bug. Hope they'll fix it soon.

I had this and managed to fix it:

 

  1. Download iTunes from https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
  2. Open the Terminal
  3. Run "sudo rm -r /Applications/iTunes.app"
  4. Re-install iTunes

Same for me (iMac 27", Late 2013).

I tried it with a new user as well - same result.

On my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13", Late 3013) it's working however.

This has happened to me as well. I immediately called Apple support and after 45 minutes, they had me re install OS X....it did not fix the problem. The CS guy didn't hear anyone else so far calling about this issue...i think they will know now! waiting for a call back shortly to see if the OS X fixed it which DID NOT.

This terminal trick worked...apple still isn't aware of any issues..on the phone now with them actually.
