Is there a remote control that will work with the  new Mac Book Pro OSX Sierra 10.12.6. I like to be able to watch movies on DVD player and it's nice to have a remote control for pause, FF, RWD and volume etc. I guess old apple remote worked with intrared and there is not used on new Mac Books.

I believe you can use the iTunes Remote app on your iPhone or Apple Watch to control iTunes. I think iTunes might be able to open DVD's as well, so try opening the DVD with that and then use the app. iTunes Remote on the App Store
