phone calls not working on apple watch series 3

The following steps may help:

• Unpair your iPhone from a Bluetooth headset, if one is presently paired to it.

• Restart both your iPhone and your watch, turning both devices off together, then restarting your iPhone first:
  • Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  • Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

• If you are using a case or other protective accessory on your Apple Watch, then it may help to remove it.

• Check the speaker port for any wrapping or debris:
  • A quick look at Apple Watch
  • Cleaning your Apple Watch - Apple Support

If the issue persists, then I suggest that you contact Apple Support (or make a Genius Bar reservation), taking advantage of the initial 90 days of complimentary technical support that is included with Apple Watch:

Hi, so I figured out that the calls work better if I disconnect my watch from my phone :)
