New iOS update killed my watch

I did the software update on my series 1 stainless steel watch earlier this week, and the first two days my watch died after 13 hours of wear. Today it died after 6. And. Now I can’t get it to charge above 31%. The charge % has even dropped while connected to the charger. And when I called Apple support - they want to charge me $200 to fix the watch that is 1 month out of warranty and only malfunctioning thanks to Apples own software update. 

Beware 

Mine won't charge at all since update to OS 4
