How to limit Mail.app authentification errors

I have setup my Exchange account in Mail.app.

It works fine except when I modify my password from a Windows PC and do not update it immediately on my MacBookPro :

Mail.app generates thousand authentification errors on the AD service (used by Exchange server)

Is there a way to limit the number of connection tries ?
