Music Crashes under iOS 11

Music crashes only 1-2 seconds after launching after upgrading to iOS11. This happens both on my iPhone 6S plus and iPad Air2.

I have tried rebooting, resetting network settings and force quitting the Music app. It's useless as is so I might just as well remove it!

An internet search reveals that I'm not the only one with the problem.

There is plenty of space on my devices.

My wife's iPhone 6 suffers from the same problem.

Does anyone have a sure fix or is there an update to Music coming to fix this?
