Hi everyone.

I purchased my new MacBook Pro. After all the nightmare cable problems sorted out I connected my Apple LED Cinema Display with an original Mac adaptor from thunderbolt 2 to type C USB. It does not work... Why? Because Cinema Display is not supported on the new MacBook Pro. So why the adapter? Should I trash my display?

Any one annoyed by the factor Apple keep changing everything all the time?

That’s not the right adapter. It clearly says so on Apple’s support pages: Connect devices and displays with the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Apple Support

You need a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter. Suggestions can be found here: https://www.macworld.com/article/3136583/macbook-accessories/macbook-pro-thunder bolt-3-adapter-guide-how-to-connect-an-i…

(And yes, it’s annoying.)
