Connect to windows 10 shared folder

I have a problem I hope someone can solve, which from the title you can see involves connecting to a shared folder on Windows 10. So some background information first. I have two Windows 10 computers; a laptop with a local user account and the 2nd (a desktop) with a MS user account. Both computers have sharing enabled and have several folders shared.

I have 3 MAC computers, a 2015 iMac and a 2016 MBP (both of these computers are fully loaded with the highest spec hardware and run Sierra 10.12.6). The other Mac is a 2013 MacBook Air running Beta 8 of the upcoming software.

I can connect to the Windows 10 laptop with the local account and have no problems accessing the shared folders. However, when I try to connect to the Windows 10 desktop using the MS user account (xxxx@hotmail.com + password) Finder reports a "failed connection". This happens on all 3 MAC computers, so it's not an isolated thing. Now for a slight twist - I have Parallel Desktop installed on the iMac and MBP with Windows 7 on both machines. If I load Windows 7 I can connect to the desktop computer running Windows 10 and have no problem logging in using the MS account User Name and Password.

One final note - prior to loading Windows 10 (recently) on the desktop computer, it ran Windows 7 Ultimate and I did not have a problem connecting to the shared folders.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks,

Dave
