change launchpad icon in Sierra?

Why can I not edit system icons in Sierra?

I'll ask for this thread to be moved to macOS Sierra where it might get better attention than a Windows backwater.

Because Apple applications are signed applications, and changing the specific application icon, or other files within the application bundle would alter the code signing, and break the application. It is also reverse engineering an Apple application which violates the license agreement for macOS.

Why would you even want to…? Unless you want the old icons that came with Mavericks and it's predecessors for example, but even then…?
