Phone not connecting with iTunes

Hi, so my iPhone 4S won't connect to my itunes. It's plugged in and is able to be charged and everything is up-to-date, but nothing I have done is working and all I want to do is sync music onto my phone.

im so frustrated with apple this phone wont connect to any computer everything is updated
