Is local data on an iPod Touch 6th Gen Encrypted?

Product in question: iPod Touch 6th Gen 32GB (MKJ02LL/A). iOS 10+.

Problem: Confirm if the iPod Touch 6th Gen 32GB (MKJ02LL/A) provides local data encryption. I found this guide about security: https://www.apple.com/business/docs/iOS_Security_Guide.pdf  The guide does mention that there is built-in encryption for iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch using iOS 10+ and that it is built-in to the hardware. Basically, I want to know, is if once I turn on passcode/password on an iPod Touch 6th Gen. Will the local data(notes, pictures/videos, app data, contacts, etc) be encrypted?
