Where can I download OSX Sierra DMG/ISO? Mac wo...
I upgraded my Macbook Pro OS to Sierra on Thursday Friday morning and its been a disaster. Crashing, not starting. So far with continuous trying over the weekend I cannot start in safe mode, restore mode. I have done boot with D and hardware check was fine.
Boot with Shift hults at 50-90% of progress bar. Boot with Cmd + Opt + R gets me to select wi-fi and authenticate, then get to grey background with apple logo and a non animated spinning gear icon, after about 5 minutes screen goes black.
Can anyone help me with an OSX Sierra DMG or ISO I can download from my Windows PC and create a bootable USB Flash drive to see if I can boot on that to repair?
Thanks.
The sole source for macOS Sierra is from the OS X/macOS App Store, or by booting into Internet Recovery (option+command+R), taking the default downloaded version of OS X from Apple that originally shipped with your Mac, and then using the App Store on that release of OS X to select/download/install MacOS Sierra from the App Store. Keep your Mac plugged into a power source while you are doing this.

Thanks for the info, trying the boot with Option + Cmd +R now and this is where I am at. The gear icon is not moving/animating, is that right?
Thanks
You will need either a designated Wi-Fi connection, or wired connection, and wired power supply when you perform Internet Recovery. Since it has been a few days, hopefully you have this sorted and progressed through the incremental upgrades to a functional macOS Sierra system.
I have been sufficiently fortunate that I have not needed to perform an Internet Recovery, but if it is not showing any progress after a reasonable amount of time, that would be cause for concern.
Is there a progress bar showing at all? It can take up to 15 minutes to connect to Apple's servers with internet recovery. You will know you're connected when it finally changes to the Utilities window.
Hi, I have similar problem, but I am stuck on 2FA. Yosemite is not showing the window for 2FA code, so I am not able to download Sierra from AppStore. What should I do? (software updates installed). I am not able to turn 2FA off, because I don't remember my security questions (and I don't know where to change them).
Could anyone help me with this? Thanks
The following Apple article describes how to reset your security questions on your AppleID.

I have the same problem and want to wipe and install a fresh macOS Sierra. Apple in all their wisdom deletes the Sierra download if the OS is already at Sierra. (Thanks Apple, Brilliant)
When I go into App Store Purchases. Sierra is not listed, so I can't download the Installer DMG from Apple. Brilliant again Apple. So the only option left is to find a file repository on the internet where I can download the Sierra Installer image.
Is this a plot to get me to throw away my MacBook and buy a new one?

If you go to the App Store Featured tab, can you download it from there?
If you boot into the Recovery Mode (command - R on a restart), can you install it from there?
I don't suppose you Time Machined your old Yosemite? Might be a good idea so you can keep your MacBook.
I have a 2008 MacBook on Mavericks having missed my opportunity for Yosemite and it works wonderfully well. Any particular reason for upgrade to Sierra?

That would be a very bad idea.
Not only is the app store the only place where one can obtain OS and apps legally, anything sold elsewhere online is considered a bootlegged copy and may contain additional hidden software (malware/adware). As well, any download is tied to the Apple ID used to obtain it, so you may run into unexpected problems trying to update/reinstall.
Handtrapped forum and the magic solutions are connect to internet or take it to app-store…
Absolutely I don't find any professionality or free minded people to find the appropriate solution because all people using these useless products the higher level of thinking is how to listen to music or connect to internet, watch movie, open the camera, bla bla bla…
apple is huge objection in technology world!
