Adguard??

i am reading that mac keeper is not good, someone recommended adguard, I did install, I am wondering if i should have. Any ideas out there? Thanks!

If you are having a problem with a particular ad/popup, use this:

This is a trusted piece of software produced by a very active and competent ASC participant.

I would avoid all other removal tools.

Not having used it, I cannot give you a definitive answer.  I have not have had that much difficulty with ads with my MBP to date and I have used Mr. Reeds Adware Removal Tool once with success.

I suppose you could try it, but I have no inclination to do so.  This is my opinion, not a statement of fact.

Adblock plus browser plugin is highly recommended for stopping all advertisements on the web

I bought the Pro version of AdGuard but deleted it after a while. Despite their quite loud self praise on their website and its rather intrusive behavior on my machine (iMac, OS 10.11.6), it is, in my opinion, not as good as „uBlock Origin“ by Raymond Hill. I see no or almost no ads in Firefox with the latter which was by far not always the case with the former.
