Apple Watch Stainless S V3 and Vodafone UK

Hello all! 

 

I am really tempted to upgrade from Apple watch ss v0 to the v3 which include the cellular when stainless steel. But I am not on the launch network EE... Do you think that I'll eventually be able to activate the cellular later when (if) my network (Vodafone UK) support it?

If you do not wish to sign up with EE, then you cannot currently use the built-in cellular feature with another UK network.

 

However, Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) can still be paired, set up and used for other features whilst skipping the steps to activate cellular. The cellular feature can then be enabled later, if and when you are using a compatible service plan on your iPhone, whether from EE or another UK carrier in due course.

 

You may wish to contact Vodafone to enquire about their plans for providing service plans for iPhone that support Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular).

Yes I appreciate that I can use it without the cellular function. I was just trying to find out that if Vodafone where to support it in the future, it would be able to do so with the v3 coming up now...

There are three different regional versions of Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular), each supporting different LTE and UMTS bands, as detailed here - including a model for the UK bands:

 

 

If you would prefer to receive reassurance from Vodafone, then I suggest that you contact them to confirm the compatibility of the UK models with any service plans that they may be planning to offer.
