Mom passed away no way to backup or recover her...

Hi my mom passed away in December and I finally got my Uncle to send me her iPhone 5s and iPad 4th Gen Wifi however none of the passcodes that I thought of or her friends suggested will work so does anyone know how to backup the information on them without the passcode or Apple ID password. I read that Dr Fone's Wondershare will back the devices up without the passcodes does anyone know if that will work. Then if I can or can't back the information up (which I would like to bc I would hate to loose her pictures and notes but let's say I do reset them after I reset the devices I will need her Apple ID password I'm having trouble resetting that password. The first two time I answered her security questions Aplle sent me an email to reset the password but it asked me for her birthday which is the correct birthday and the one Apple said they have on file but that doesn't work. I tried changing the day back a day or forward a day and the year but that doesn't work either. Also I tried my birthday with no succes. This is really frustrating me because I can't backup her information and now apparently I can't even ever use the devices with out changing her password. This is really frustrating and aggravating me and is a terrible feature by Apple. I mean I can understand the security of the idea in case they were stolen but what about in the case of death? I just wasn't even thinking about needing to use her electronics when she died but come on who is gonna think of that? Like oh my mom is dying I better get her passcodes before the croaks! Really *** Apple? I should at least be able to show them her death certificate and change her **** password. Does anyone have any idea on how I can save her data or at least her devices? Please help me...

I think Apple will help you if you take them a copy of the Death Certificate and some proof that you are the legal heir.  Check with your local store to see what proofs they require.

Apple cannot get passed the passcodes. If there is a passcode on the device, the contents are encrypted. Apple has told the FBI and the NSA that they are unable to access the information even if subpoenaed. Apple will, according to reports, remove the activation lock with proper documentation.

Yes, really. You have my condolences for the loss of you mother. However, without the passcode, there is no way to get the information off the device. Apple takes data security very seriously. A passcode that had a backdoor that Apple could use wouldn't be very secure. It would mean that Apple could be compelled by the government to give access to your data. That backdoor could be hacked by criminals. And, Apple has no way of knowing that someone who died would want anyone else to see their data.

If you want people to be able to access your electronic devices, your email accounts, your cloud storage once you're dead, make sure the credentials are kept with your attorney or in your safety deposit box and that they are updated as required.

I appreciate the help you guys and I can easily get her death certificate and my birth certificate has her name on it proving that she was my mother but there is no known copy of her passwords anywhere even in her office. I am hoping that she may possibly have kept them in the notes on her phone and I guess the only way to access the notes would be with the computer that she synced them to so I will ask my uncle to send her computer out here I just hope that it doesn't have a password on it as well. I guess in the worst case I could restore them erasing all the data but I would still need to get or change her Apple Id password to even use the devices. Now the last time I spoke with Apple I answered her security questions and they emailed me a link to reset her password but it was asking me for her birthday which was not her actua birthday which is what they have on file so that makes no sense then they sent me another link that didn't ask for her birthday and I chafed her password and it appea to have worked but my computer has a virus so apparently it didn't work and I am just really frustrated does anyone else have an idea on what to do? I guess I will call Apple back again tomorrow and ask them to send that link agin so that I can try to change her password but I really want to back the devices up before restoring them. Can I do that from the computer she synced them to without her passcode?

Apple will, according to reports, remove the activation lock with proper paperwork. I believe it's something like death certificate and something indicating that you are the legal heir to the device.

Is this computer a Mac or a PC?

LIke I said I do have the death certificate and my birthcertificate with her name one it. Her computer is on windows and I could have it sent out here also I read that Dr Fone Wondershare will backup all the information but I would need to purchase the software for $69.95 so that is an option. I just need to find out or change her Apple ID password so that the devices are usable. I will contact Apple tommorow to try to change her ID password so that I can use the device. I hope that they will reset the password and I can use them. Thanks you guys any more info that would help me would be greatly appreciate!

Seriously!  My friends mother just passed.   He gave me his mother IPad.  I am having trouble resetting the password because she had it attached to Find my device.  She just passed last month.  He knows how much I love technology, so he gave it to me as a gift.  I will find a way to unlock it before I hand it over to Apple.  That is ridiculous.   We answered all the security questions correctly.  They just sent us a link to her Yahoo ID.  And yahoo like apple is hard to reset.

I am not about to ask his dad for his mother's death certificate.  Do you guys not have a soul!
