Problems when entering numbers on Macbook Pro 2017

Does anyone have the same problem with me? Sometimes my MacBook won't allow me to enter the numbers I want. For example, when I logged in to apple site using apple id, it required verification code. When i started to enter the code, like 2, it would change to 4  or other numbers and i couldn't enter the code I want. Or when I was using a learning site like pearson's MyOMLab, there were some places I couldn't put the numbers I wanted; it kept replacing with other numbers. Other than that, everything is fine. There's no problem entering numbers while using word document, or surfing the internet, or entering password.
