iPod playlist mode?

Hi everyone

My father in law has recently bought a Bose Sounddock 3 and a new iPod touch with the latest iOS installed and updated.

The iPod works well with the sound dock, however, the buttons on the remote that are supposed to switch to the next or previous playlist do not work at all. In the trouble shooting guide it says to ensure that the iPod is in "playlist mode". We cannot find any settings on the iPod to say whether it is in this mode. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I am assuming playlist mode is just the 'normal' mode for playing songs in order, rather than in shuffle mode, but just wanted some clarification!

Having the same issue and so far no luck from the Bose site.  

Nothing I try works.   All the other buttons function properly.

I have the same problem with my new Sounddock III and my iPod touch A1574 (6th generation).  I note that the Bose manual says that it is: Made for: • iPod touch (5th generation) • iPod nano (7th generation) • iPhone 5   So...maybe the problem is that this Bose remote playlist control function does not work with 6th generation?
