Safest site to sell Macbook Pro retina

I have a like new early 2013 MacBook Pro with retina display15.4" I want to sell. It is 16Gb ram, 512 HD,  Mountain Lion (I never upgraded to anything else)and I have the box etc. I also have AppleCare on it until 2016. I will cancel AppleCare after sold to JayBrokers or site like that. I will have checked out Jay Brokers (BBB rating very good) and iGotOffer Site. Sell your Mac also I checked out. It shows between $1242.00 and $1270. as what I would get. The gazelle site was low on price paid.

I don't like Craig's List as too many shady people send emails and then try and scam you. This happened to a few of my friends. Although the reviews are good on each site I wanted to see about what you thought. If a person bought this locally I would transfer the AppleCare. I don't sell on eBay either.  I deauthorized on my Windows laptop and will also take off my list of items registered with Apple when sold.

My MacBook Pro was reset as I called Apple to have them walk me through it. I deauthorized the computer, my iTunes account and App Store account. I signed out of iCloud and never was signed into iMessage or Find My Phone. I only had about 20 battery cycles on it and it is flawless in every way. It also has the Samsung screen. awesome. I have a Windows 7 laptop and two iPads and use them more.

Any help would be welcomed. If Apple bought used Apple products I would take it there. If I sell in a local paper I just want someone to do something to it after they buy it and then want their money back. This sold new for over $2700.00.

Thanks

As a point of information, Apple care follows the MBP so in effect you cannot cancel it.

You should not be too wary of Craig's list so long that you insist on cash.  Make that known if you list it there.

Ciao.

Thanks. I am an honest person and so many other people that buy things are never satisfied. I know it is perfect and the screen is amazing. It boots up in less than 10 seconds-unlike my Windows 7 is about 4 minutes. My Windows laptop is older and I may replace it someday if Windows 10 is any good. It's going on 4 years old but very dependable.

Happy Holidays.

Most people are honest, but the few that are not certainly make the rest wary.  A cash only sale with a 'where is, as is' policy protects you.  If the potential customer is savvy, he/she will run an Apple Hardware Test, perform a few functions and test the charger among other things.  Plan to spend an hour+ with them for that reason.  After all, neither of you know each other.

There is always the possibility that some thing may go wrong at any time.  Generally you have no control over that.  Life is not without risk.  If the terms are clearly understood, you should not have any post sale problems to deal with.

Ciao.

Well as OGELTHORPE says insist on cash. However, I have recently heard of a cash transaction where the seller was paid in counterfeit money! Some people!

I suggest staying far away from iGotOffer.com for one reason: They say they pay for shipping and therefore are responsible for insurance on the shipment. However, I have been told that my item was damaged in shipping (even though I paid to have it professionally packaged at a UPS Store), and then they sent it back to me damaged, which was less than useless to me at that point. They would not file a claim with UPS for the damage as they said that UPS never pays insurance. What?! I suggest Gazelle.com – always a great experience.
