Songs skipped on playlists when using Apple Wat...

Here is a quirky one.  I have an iPhone 7, running iOS11 paired with a Series 2 Apple Watch, running OS3.  When I am controlling music on my iPhone through Watch, if i choose to play an album or artist, it plays fine, no problems.  When i choose to play a playlist, it will play a song, or a few songs, then it will randomly skip past certain songs in that playlist.  It might start the song, but then skips to the next song after only a few seconds.  It only does this with playlists.  Lastly, I noticed on my phone, that when a playlist is playing(being controlled through my Watch), the Artist and Album line(underneath the song title) that is usually red, is now gray.  has anyone else seen this before, have a fix for it?  Outside of alerts/notifications, this is what i use Watch for and this problem is really annoying.
