Why are SD movies suddenly the same price as HD...

Hi

I've noticed that SD movies have suddenly jumped in price from £3.49 to £5.49 with no difference in price to the HD version.  In iTunes or on Apple TV with SD set, the price is £5.49.  Look up King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, you will see £5.49 HD, then pick SD and its still £5.49, that nearly a 60% price increase overnight! Thanks

I'm sure you realise you can only get opinions here about things like that.   This was probably a commercial decision made by those who can profit from it.   They don't have to explain this to anyone; you buy it or you don't.

I've asked Apple formally but thought I would see if anyone else had noticed it!  Appears a bit strange as you will be able to fire up the Amazon app and rent it in SD for £3.49!

Apple will never explain their price structure for services like this any more than they will explain their one to one £ to $ prices for their products.   I hate to say this but you're wasting your time.   Just buy elsewhere if the asking price appeals and your facilities will accept the item.
