Album Artwork Disappears

I have added a couple albums that aren't on the iTunes store, they both consist of wav files. They play with no issue but when I manually attempt to add the album artwork (via right click, get info, add album artwork) it will show in the pop-up window but when I click "OK" to save, the artwork doesn't save.

.wav files don't support embedded artwork. Sometimes iTunes will provided associated artwork from the iTunes Store. Occasionally tweaking the album details to match those in the store can lead to a successful match, but apart from that there isn't any ability to choose your own artwork for .wav files. Use Apple Lossless if you want lossless tracks with the ability to add metadata.
