New MacBook and Camera Syncing Problems

Hi everyone!

I have a Sony Alpha 6000 and on my previous MacBook (a 2015), when I plugged it in to the USB port, it was recongnized immediately and showed up in my Finder. I could then import photos to the Finder or to iPhoto.

With my new MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports, 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7, iOS 10.12.6) , when I plug the camera into a Thunderbolt port (via converter), nothing happens. I just get an endless message on my camera screen that says "connecting" but nothing ever changes. I search in the finder for the camera but it does not show up.

The same is true if I try to sync my photos wirelessly to the computer. An endless "connecting" message. The camera still syncs to my old MacBook so I'm certain it's not a camera problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions or resolutions?

Thank you!

Alex
