update ipad

im trying to update my ipad and it was working and told me to update with computer so now the apple sign is up on the screen but it wont do anything else. i have refreshed it and still it comes up with the apple sign? i have plugged it into the computer and nothings working

You're probably going to need to try restoring in Recovery Mode: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.
