Apple Watch no activity

I bought my Apple Watch series 1 a year ago, for a week everything worked as it should, did update IOS10 and then I started having the following issues:

No recording of any activity although all the settings are on and off as they should be

Wrist raise also not working

I have sent it back for possible repairs - technical dept at the store found no issues.

Updated to IOS11 and WatchOS4 - still not working as it should!

What else could be wrong?   Any help is greatly appreciated.
