My iPad has been gone for weeks. I immediately turned on Find My iPhone and not a peep. It has not come online once and I find that hard to believe. Someone has to have it.

If it was stolen by or is in the hands of someone with a working knowledge of how Find My iPad and activation lock works, it will likely never come back online. They would know they can't remove the activation lock and reuse the device. They will sell it to some unsuspecting person who will not be able to use it and it will be discarded in some way.
