How can I cancel my iCloud Storage plan?
When I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and it turned into a "brick" I was forced to use iCloud to backup and restore and it kept complaining that I had 5.9 gb which is over the 5.0Gb free storage provided, so I purchased an upgrade - in a dazed and confused state as my iPhone was a "brick" I must have done this twice to recover my iPhone.
Result is that I now have an additional 20Gb Storage Plan.
Nice email saying that I can cancel it within 15 days, but not where or how to do this. I spoke to Apple iPhone support who said its another division, try iTunes support website and I should be able to email and cancel - but not seen any email address.
Tried iCloud Express Lane but they want £20 for an incident ticket which is about what I paid for the 20gb Storage Plan!
Problem overall is that I use an iMac (PPC not Intel) on Mac OS 10.5.8 and although I have upgraded to iTunes 10.5, I am finding that WiFi sync or iCloud do not work unless you are on Mac OS 10.6 (needs Intel) or greater.
So I want to cancel my iCloud storage plan. Please can someone help me.

Do any of the following:
- On your iOS device’s Home screen:
- Tap Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Buy More Storage.
- Tap Downgrade Options, then tap to put a checkmark beside your current plan.
- To confirm you want to set up iCloud to renew your current storage plan when the next payment is due, tap Confirm.
- On your Mac:
- Choose Apple Menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
- Click Manage, then click Buy More Storage.
- Click Downgrade Options, and enter your Apple ID password.
- Click to select your current plan (so that a checkmark appears), and then click Done.
- On your Windows computer:
- Choose Start Menu > Control Panel > “Network and Internet,” then click iCloud.
- Click Manage, then click Buy More Storage.
- Click Downgrade Options, and enter your Apple ID password.
- Click to select your current plan (so that a checkmark appears), and then click Done.
Not quite the answer I need, but thanks for replying so promptly.
I want to downgrade immediately not from the next payment due date.
Does anyone know how to get a refund and downgrade immediately within the 15 days of purchase of the storage plan as the email statement from iCloud says, but then does not provide a link or telephone number to do it.
Apple support or the support websites do not provide this information. Not impressed at all with Apple this occasion, actually recently. Come on Apple get your act together. You are becoming more like you know who.
They have steps here, but I haven't purchased Storage to try them: https://support.apple.com/kb/TS4009
How did the icloud restore un brick your iphone 4? When I upgraded my wifes iphone 4 the update bricked her phone and I have had no luck in getting it to work since. Can you explain how icloud helped you fix your iphone4?
Thanks
I am having the same problem. I was able to contact someone from the iTunes store, who just said he couldn't help, but the "good people at iCloud" could, and he gave me a link to the support site which wants $ just to contact someone and has no number. He gave me no number to call even though I asked for one. I have emailed back specifically asking for a number or an email to use, but no reply so far. I hope I can get the number before the cancellation period is up. I will post it if I do.
I was FINALLY successful in canceling my iCloud "upgrades".
This is what I did that did NOT work:
1. Went on apple's "support" website
2. Followed directions given there and ones given in posts here
3. Emailed support at iTunes store support (who told me they could do nothing but that "the good people at iCloud " could help, and then gave me a link to the same infuriating website that could not help me before, and did NOT give me the cancellation phone number I asked for - or any number for that matter)
4. Reply emailed the same guy to give me a phone number or link that worked to cancel (I have yet to hear back)
THIS IS WHAT I DID THAT WORKED:
1. Scoured the apple website and site map for a number to call.
2. Found and called
1-800-275-2273
3. Went through the extremely annoying voice recognition software program
4. Waited 3 minutes for a representative to "direct" my call
5. Waited 14 minutes to talk to a representative who transferred me again
6. Waited another 11 minutes listening to very bad music that kept sounding like it was cutting out even though I was calling from a line that could not cut out.
7. Spoke with a "senior advisor " who asked me a lot of questions and said that they had new people for the holidays which is why it took so long to get to the right person.
8. Retold my situation and gave info and waited for a few minutes longer and was coven a case number and told I would " probably" get my refund within " 7-10 business days" ( even though it only took minutes for them to charge the fees)
Hope this helps anyone who needs a refund for iCloud
It is VERY FRUSTRATING and takes a while, but DON'T GIVE UP!
I've never posted before but gotten lots of help from these forums (THANK YOU!!)
I'm on the phone right now listening to the same music after enduring the same irritating voice prompts.....this is painful!
Thank you for the info on how to get my $$ back..i'll let you know how it comes out!!
Okay that was painful but worked like a charm!! Thank you for taking the time to let us know how to get $$ back! The wait was long but they were really helpful...think maybe you paved the way for the rest of us :-)
Thank you for the information. I was able to get the refund after about 10 minutes on the phone, and the customer service was excellent. It appears that they are unaware of the problem in general for canceling on the web site.
This post is right-on. It took me about 20 minutes to go through the steps. I have Apple Care which may have helped.
I can't believe that Apple makes it this difficult to claim a refund. Clearly they want to discourage you from doing so.
This post totally helped! Thank you so much! I ended up calling and wasn't on the phone for too long, and they didn't make me wait as much. Probably because I called in the morning. The customer service was excellent and they resolved the refund issue right away. Haven't received my refund just yet, considering I just called a minute ago, but I don't think anyone else should have problems after contacting Apple directly. Good luck!
tthanks for the help so frustrating will try that , as 15 days is up today !
Worked like a charm, thanks thatbenguy!
: Thank you for posting this. It worked like a dream. BTW, I called on a Sunday at 9:45 am and got it resolved in about 10 mins.
