Apple Watch showing blank notification icons

I have experienced on my Apple Watch Series 3 running Watch OS 4.0 that some notifications have been appearing without their logo and/or icon. This appears as a white tile with grid lines inside. It is reported that this has happened with Snapchat, Facebook and Twitter but is not limited to this list.

After speaking with an Apple Support team member the issue is software related and there is currently no fix. The following steps have been taken to attempt to fix the issue but none were successful;

• Powering on and off Apple Watch.
• Powering on and off iPhone paired with Apple Watch.
• Deleting and reinstalling applications (eg: Snapchat, and Facebook).
• Unpairing and repairing Apple Watch to iPhone.
• Reseting Apple Watch to factory defaults and setting up from backup.
• Reseting Apple Watch to factory defaults and setting up as new.

Apple's engineers are currently aware of this issue but only a small percentage of users are experiencing it. If you are having the following issue please submit a Product Feedback - Apple form on the following issue.

There is currently no time frame for this bug to be patched by Apple engineers as they are in early stages of diagnosing the issue.
