Using 2013 iMac as docking station for 2017 Mac...

I have a 2013 27in iMac I am trying to sell on craigslist.  I figured I could use it as a monitor/docking station with my MacBook Pro 2017 15in until I sell the iMac.  I found instructions for how to use the iMac as an external monitor for my MacBook Pro.  Is it possible to also use the 2013 iMac as a docking station and an external monitor (both at the same time) with my MacBook Pro?  If so, can someone point me in the right direction.

By the way, I already own a thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 cable for plugging the MacBook Pro 2017 into the 2013 iMac.

Hi,

Unfortunately not:

Connect devices to your Mac

A Mac that's connected to an iMac in Target Display Mode can't use the iMac computer's built-in camera, its USB, ThunderBolt, or FireWire ports, or devices connected to those ports. To use external devices with your Mac, connect these devices directly to the Mac that you want to use them with.

Use your iMac as a display with Target Display Mode - Apple Support

There's gotta be a backdoor way to accomplish this.  Third-party app?  Settings somewhere?  Change some plists, etc?  There's gotta be a way to modify an iMac to behave in the same manner as a Thunderbolt display, ie...you can use the ports on the iMac when a MacBook Pro is plugged into the iMac.

Anyways, I have a 2nd question...is it possible to set the iMac so it automatically goes into target-mode and turns into an external monitor the moment I plug my MacBook Pro into the iMac?  I dont want to press cmd-F2 on the iMac (I dont even want a keyboard and mouse attached to the iMac) every time I plug the MacBook Pro into the iMac to use the iMac as an external monitor.

From what I know, the answer to both is no.
