Macbook Pro Charging very slowly

So since I bought my MacBook Pro (mid 2014) second hand I have been encountering issues regarding how slowly it charges. It takes up to 10 hours for it to charge, there are no issues with battery life which is normal. The only issue is that it take like 10 hours to charge which is a hassle if I am in a rush, but I'm getting by through charging it in the evenings.

Please can someone help me with this issue, I have not found a solution by looking at other threads.

I use a 60 watt MagSafe charger, and I have tried using a friend's charger so I can confirm the problem is not the charger but in fact my charging port. What should I do?

I also recently downloaded coconutBattery to test the quality of my battery and it says that it's only charging at a rate of 500mA. Is that what the issue is? If so how do I fix that?

Just for clarification: are you using the MBP while charging? That can make quite a difference.

Nope, I have the laptop lid down and it still charges so slowly

Are you using the correct charger for your model of MacBook Pro? Are you sure it doesn't need an 85W charger? That could  be your problem,  you, using a charger rated lower than  what your  machine was designed for .
