New information on monitor wake problems

I have a 2016 15" MacBook Pro with touchbar connected to two Thunderbolt 3 displays (LG UltraFine 5k and LG UltraFine 4k - the monitors advertised by Apple when the MBP was announced).

I've been having problems with the 4k monitor not waking from sleep.  Does anyone else see this problem?  Sometimes it would wake and other times it would not.  I've seen other similar reports.  Some people have had issues with the internal display or the 5k, but in my case it was always the 4k.  The others have always been solid.

Yesterday I finally found out the trick to always having the 4k wake from sleep.  It seems that the order in which you connect the monitors makes a difference.  If I connect the 4k first, it always wakes as expected.  If I connect the 5k first, the 4k monitor always fails to wake from sleep.

Considering it is almost impossible to get Apple to acknowledge or fix these types of problems I figured I would document my discovery here in the hopes that someone at Apple sees this and it helps track down this issue waking external monitors.

I'm happy to track down appropriate logs from both a working and nonworking scenarios if it would help.  Thanks.
