Issues changing the info on multiple songs on i...

I am trying to change the info on all of the songs on my iPhone to "Remember playback position", and some to, "skip while shuffling". It lets me select the option but then when I click "ok" and go back in it doesn't save the selection. It only does this when trying to alter multiple songs at once, but not individual songs. I am attempting to do this in list view on the most recent version of iTunes (though I have had this problem for over a year now), I used to be able to do this as of a few years ago. Let me know, please, I have over 1,000 songs and cannot change each individually! Thanks!
