Old iPad left for a long time

I own a iPad 2, I bought it about 2012/2013. I have not used it in about two years but I have charged it sometimes and used it for a while. But not the latest year. But i now took it up and tried to charge it, and it is unresponsive. I have tried to charge it for 3 hours. I have no backups on it and on the ipad are many old videos and photos important to me. I am charging it with a iPhone 4 charger, that is a little bit broken at the top, but the cables are fine, it's just the protecting material. Can I revive it? Or atleast in any way get the videos and photos back?

Does it not power on even when on the cable?  Maybe try different charger?  Even if the battery is bad it should still power up on the cable.

I have an original ipad that my child uses and it was left powered off for a few years, but still works fine after we charged it back up.

First thing I would do is connect the iPad to an iPad charger and not an iPhone charger and let it charge overnight. Completely drained batteries may take a long time before the device responds.
