Strange behavior after iOS 10 update

Hi,

I have the following issues:

1.  My entire music library disregards any custom ending time i had previously set via iTunes. 

2.  Certain smart playlists randomly stop playing or have gaps with blank songs in the "up next" section.  When one of these gaps is encountered, the playlist stops altogether.  Pressing play on my headphones restarts the playlist on the song it started on, plays the same handful of songs until it hits that gap, and stops again.  This one is the worst of all.

3. When playing back certain songs that worked perfectly before, occasionally they will stop at a seemingly random time.  This has been noticed on the last track of certain albums, playing the first 10-15 seconds and then ending, and then restarting at the beginning of the album.

I used to use Apple music but I unsubscribed over a year ago.  I don't know if that has anything to do with my issues, but this is all very annoying.  None of these issues were present before the update to iOS10.

P.S. Why in the world did Apple remove the ratings option from songs??

Did you find a solution to your problem? I am having problem with #2. It is so annoying! Especially when on long drives and music cycles through a handful of song, sometimes twice because I think it's because I shuffle my music, but then it stops playing. I notice the gaps in the "Up Next" and have figured out that's exactly when it occurs, where there's a gap. I've tried moving songs to fill the gaps, but that doesn't work as it creates a new gap further down or above. I'm using 10.0.3 and I can't fix this. So frustrating! What can be done? Already powered off, closed app. Closed all apps, nothing fixes it yet.

Nothing yet!  I've deleted and re-created my smart playlists that are affected by this with no success.  I think it's something to do with purchased/downloaded music and probably something to do with my "former" apple music subscriber status.

I have your issue #2 where there is gaps in the up next. I spoke for a while with apple care and they were apply to look at my screen and computer. We have narrowed down the issue. The issue is only with smart playlists. The blank spaces in up next are actually songs. If you look at your playlist, not your up next, you will find blank songs in there too on a smart playlist. We focused on some of those gaps and found that we could identify what songs were blanks. We found one blank above AC/DC TNT and two below it. We then created a not smart playlist with only AC/DC songs and looked at what song was above TNT and what two were below TNT. Those three were the three that were missing on the smart playlist.

Apple care recommend that I wait until IOS 11 comes out to see if I still have the issue with the smart playlist. If I do, he will have to have an engineer work with my to look into it. For now, I copied the contents of my smart playlist on the computer to a dumb playlist as a work around and it has no gaps on my iphone with 1100 songs.  I will keep this forum updated with developments.
