Refurbished Oct 2016 MacBook Pro Problems

My new MacBook Pro arrived today. I updated to High Sierra immediately and am noticing a few issues which make me wonder if there's another option through Apple or if (GAH!) I may need to switch to PC after 3 Macs. Are the following issues typical of the newer MacBook lines?

 

1) When typing into Apple Support Chat field I suddenly lose ability to continue. I type away but no letters appear. No visible cursor move, but have to manually click back into the field in order to resume typing. Does not seem to occur in larger text fields. And then there's the loud keyboard.

 

2) Backspace key does not work to go back in the browser. I asked tech support about and 35 minutes later they told me there is no fix.

 

3) Macintosh HD was not visible in Finder. It took TWO tech support agents 20+ minutes to figure out how to get it into the Finder.  I asked if the refurbished computer might be the issue but they said, no, just a simple software glitch. I didn't expect that right out of the box.

 

4) Sharp front of laptop edges. Ouch.

 

I spent $2800 on this thing after tax and AppleCare and I'm ready to chuck it out the window (but of course I won't as that will void the return policy!). Tech agent suggested I might have better luck with a new computer, but I can't tell whether there's another Mac option or if I might be better off returning to the PC dark side.
