Moved 669.43 GB Photos Library to an external d...

I successfully moved my 669.43 GB Photos Library to an external drive.  Once I deleted the original library, it shows that I have 347.7 GB free on my internal drive.  How did this happen?  I thought I'd be freeing up 669.43 GB of space.  What am I missing?  I have a 20", early 2009 machine.

You have to empty the Trash, have you done that?

Okay, let me re-phrase my question:

After copying it to your external HD. Did you go back to the original location on the internal drive and put it in the Trash and then empty the Trash?

Yes I did.
