Can´t restore SMC on iMac A1419

Hello friends..

I have bought a second hand imac A1419 (late 2012 27"), but i have discovered it has a fault, it shutdowns randomly, then searched on web about this problem, and the first thing i guess must to check is SMC.

But when i try to reset SMC by following these steps:

1) Shutdown computer

2) disconnect everything (all usb connected things and power cord)

3) wait 15 secs.

4) reconnect power cord.. and wait 5 seconds

5) then press the power button...

the problem happens on step 5, it won't to power up, it remains off... so i can´t to reset SMC by this way...

after seeing this does not work, I have orderer a LiteOn Power Supply to replace it (may be that is the problem?)

in the meanwhile, i would like to give a try by any other way to reset this ..

is there another way?

Just for clarity… it won't start at all now?

yes, it won't to start, no signal of energy, to make it work again, i must to wait about 15 minutes with power cord disconnected.

have you experimented this before?

Mi iMac 27" late 2012 has the same problem. 6 times have been to the apple store just to hear the same answer: they don´t see any default in the machine. Once I brought videos showing how the shutdown happens. Replaced the power supply. The problem still exists. SMC reset is the only solution but it doesn't last much time.

There are many threads about this issue in Apple Support Communities and Apple seems like don´t care
