How do  I start migration from iMac to Mac...

How do I begin using the migration tool from iMac to MacBook Air. Both are version 10.12.6?

By far the easiest and most reliable method is to connect the Time Machine (or bootable clone) EHD from the iMac to the MBA via a USB cable. Then launch Migration Assistant and follow the on-screen prompts. Its simple, quick and reliable. DO NOT use Wi-Fi unless you have weeks (no I am not kidding), do not use Ethernet (unreliable), do not use Target mode (too complex).

Should I just unplug the USB cable, from the drive I use for Time Machine, and plug it into the MacBook Air, then start Migration Assistant?
